Reaching the top in E7 racing simply comes from sound strategy and boathandling. Straight line speed does not vary between a boat built in 1992 or 1999 so to gain an edge this year we worked on a philosophy of making the boat as simple and functional as possible. Our aim was to shave a couple of seconds off every tack, gybe, set and drop. To achieve this a lot of time was spent creating a deck layout that allocated tasks evenly amongst the crew at the same time keeping their weight in the optimum position to maintain top speed. The result is a tested and proven success story - the boat being fast from Day 1.
