Here’s Leigh’s account:

* Headed from Coochie Mudlo Island to Peel Island at 4:30am, chasing snapper

* On the way home at around 9am, I picked up the first, as I was crossing the channel that the Stradbroke Island ferries use. I'm surprised he didn't chomp through the leader - he certainly made mincemeat out of my net!

* The second was a little larger (about 69cms and 3-4kg), and I was a little more cautious about bringing him in!
